Andropause

The fact about Andropause is that it is less heard of, as men are very secure, shy and feel embarrassed about their sexual problems. Andropause is also otherwise known as ‘men menopause’. Most people are able to connect the menopause with women, and it is very vague in case of men. Scientists are still working on the actuality, occurrence, and the instigator of this condition. This condition, men menopause, is seen to have started with a man who’s above the middle age.

Dihydrotestosterone

The level of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) is the element that decides the emergence of baldness and engorged prostrate. So by the hind part of the middle age of a man, he starts to show signs of baldness and enlarged prostrate. This occurs because even with the decrease in the level of testosterone, the DHT doesn’t decrease much. The DHT can build up with a minimum amount of the testosterone present in the body; and that’s exactly what happens.

The symptoms of Andropause

The symptoms of Men menopause, or Andropause, mostly don’t surface in one precise moment; that’s why it’s hard to point out. However, if you feel the following happening to you, you should get yourself checked with a doctor. The symptoms which may actually surface in this condition are…

The Treatment of Andropause

Due to the lack of proper and widespread awareness of this condition, individuals often think that this might not have any cure; but it’s just the opposite. Men are shy about their sexual problems and feel embarrassed if this condition kicks in; so as a result they don’t inform others, which are fine as long as they inform and get checked by a doctor. Due to this, the awareness about this condition in men is so little.

However, there are treatments for this condition. After having confirmed, by a doctor, about the onset of this condition, one may opt for one of the following treatments

  • Testosterone Replacement therapy – This process makes use of certain pastes (creams), or patches, or gels, etc., which help in the increment and maintenance of the testosterone level.
  • Supplements (via diet) – Supplements can also be suggested, by the doctor. One may be advised to feed on citrus fruits, onions, buckwheat, etc.
